Yorktown, Virginia (VA)

We were 31 weeks along what we thought to be another perfect pregnancy (we have 4 other children) when we went in for an ultrasound and were in disbelief of what they suddenly were seeing. The things they saw brought the doctors to the suspicion that our unborn child may have Trisomy 13.

We prayed they were wrong and if not we were praying for a miracle. Five days later I went into labor (32 weeks) and our little Joseph came fighting into the world. What we prayed wasn't true was Joseph had Trisomy 13. (We did not know for sure until weeks after he left us) He was with us here on this earth for only 18 hours but in our hearts and family forever.

Even though we had hoped and prayed for a life time of memories, we cherish every moment we had with him and thank God for that time. He had a purpose and that was to touch peoples heart and lives. We all can hope to make such a difference.

Joseph and many other children who seem to leave us so early in their lives have fulfilled their calling and now we can be rest assured that they are in Heaven Healthy, and Happy. They continue to fulfill Their purpose even after they have left us. We have 3 beautiful girls who love their brother very much and know one day they will see him again in Heaven.
