Amber Tammie Hunt

 July 23, 1982 - Oct 16, 2006

"I hope that seeing pictures of Amber might help encourage somebody to try to keep their trisomy baby."

St. George, Utah 46 XX 13q+

Amber had 2/3 of an extra 13th chromosome. She died on Oct 16, 2006 of respiratory arrest.  She was 24 years old. We thought she might have been the oldest living person with her syndrome and we are delighted to find out we were wrong. I found your web page because I was looking on the internet for trisomy 13 information a few days ago because I was feeling sad about losing Amber.

She was a very happy person who brought joy to everyone who knew her. We don't have a birth picture because her problems were totally unexpected and everything was so hectic when she was born.

I hope that seeing pictures of her might help encourage somebody to try to keep their trisomy baby.

I am sorry I didn't find your web page sooner.

The last family photo we have.
A scan from Amber’s high school graduation. She got a standing ovation from her high school class when she came forward to receive her Certificate of Completion. It was really great!

Amber was mentally at about 2 ½ year old level. She had many heath problems including diabetes and epilepsy. She was mainstreamed through a lot of her school classes and had a good effect on everybody. She was always happy and she always wore a big smile.

Thanks!
